During the month of June, markets continued to be well stocked through
the destocking of peasant and trader stocks and cross-border flows. However,
conflicts continued to disrupt markets in northern Mali, around Lake Chad and
in Nigeria.
- For Rice, with the exception of Mali and Niger, which experienced price increases in their markets compared to last month, in all other countries monitored, the trend is towards price stability. For example, 7 out of the 9 countries have experienced price stability, indicating that supply in these markets has been sufficient to meet demand.
- For maize, marketing and availability made it possible to maintain stable prices on the markets of Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana, Togo, Senegal, Mali and Niger and even to cause a decline in prices. Market in Burkina Faso. On the other hand, the price trend is on the rise in the markets of Benin and Guinea.
- For millet, Senegal, Burkina Faso and Niger are among the main producing countries that have continued to register price increases in their markets while the trend is towards stability in the markets of the other 6 countries followed (Guinea , Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana, Togo, Benin, Mali
- For Sorghum: Small price increases were recorded in Guinea, Niger and Burkina Faso, while the marketing of traders and peasants stabilized prices in Benin, Togo, Ghana, Côte d'Ivoire, Mali and Senegal.
