During the month
of March, commercial activities remained dynamic and the enthusiasm of the
actors on the market for cereals remained unchanged. Thus, as was observed in
the past month, important marketing of cereals (maize, millet, sorghum, and
rice) continued. Overall, the markets were well supplied with cereals thanks to
the good harvests recorded, the maintenance of cross-border flows and the good
level of commercial stocks in the various markets monitored. Overall the
situation during the month of March is as follows:
- For rice,
the trend is stable and in some cases a slight decline in
almost all the markets monitored in the different countries except Benin
and Guinea
- For maize,
it is quite stable in many of the markets monitored, with the exception of
Côte d'Ivoire and Benin, which experienced slight price increases.
- For millet,
there was an increase in prices in the markets of the main producing
countries. For example, in countries such as Niger, Burkina Faso, Senegal
and even Benin, the trend is rising, while there is some stability in the
markets of Mali, Togo, Ghana, Of Ivory Coast and Guinea
- For sorghum,
some countries such as Benin, Niger and Burkina Faso experienced a slight
increase in prices in their markets during this month, while the
