During the month of June 2020, the commercial dynamics
which started during last month continued. Indeed, thanks to the easing of
measures taken by States to fight the coronavirus pandemic, markets have been
better supplied.
Prices remained stable on the rice, maize, and sorghum
markets. On the other hand, in the millet markets, the depletion of stocks in
the face of constant demand favoured slight price increases.
For rice: The trend has been towards price stability in the markets of Senegal,
Guinea, Mali, Côte d'Ivoire, Burkina Faso, Ghana, Togo and Benin. Only Niger
recorded slight price increases on its markets;
For maize: The price trends on the maize markets were very close to those
observed on the rice market. Indeed, with the exception of Niger, where there
have been slight price increases, the trend has been towards stability price in
the markets of all the other countries monitored;
For Millet: On the markets of Senegal, Guinea, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Togo and Benin
stable prices were noted, while on the markets of Mali, Burkina and Niger the
prices were on the rise;
For sorghum: In the markets of Senegal, Mali, Côte d'Ivoire, Burkina, Ghana, Togo
and Benin, the trend has been for price stability. Here too, as in the rice and
maize markets, only Niger recorded slight price increases;
